Foundation 101

We are all guilty of swatching foundation on our hand, going home to put it on, and then returning it a few days later because it doesn't match. I am here to help you save a trip back to the store! Below are 4 Tips on how to choose the right foundation:

1. Choose a foundation for your skin combination (you can be oily, dry, normal, or combination skin). Oil free foundations work best for mostly all skin combinations.

2. Ensure to choose a foundation with the proper undertone shade. Some people have pink undertones, some may have yellow, neutral or red undertones.

3. Swatch your foundation from the side of your cheek down to the neck. This technique will ensure you have a seamless colour from yo ur face to your collar bone. Swatching foundation on your hand will not be the same shade as your face.

4. Read the label to see what type of coverage the foundation provides. Some products provide a sheer coverage, some may provide medium (or a buildable consistency) type coverage, and some can be full coverage.
